Course Description

A crucial aspect of a celebrant’s job is to get as clear and detailed a picture of a couple or a family’s story

in order to deliver a meaningful wedding address or funeral tribute. This can be a challenge at the best of times, meeting in a hotel, family home or at the funeral director’s. Now, having to do this remotely, it’s doubly challenging.

As things slowly return to normal, many of us are continuing to work from home and adapt to working virtually.  Quickly developing rapport and putting people at ease is a skill.  It’s one that has had to be significantly modified to enable us to present an authentic version of ourselves whilst being locked into a small screen.

Listening to feedback from our celebrants, they are finding it challenging using video conferencing platforms to meet new people.

With this in mind, we’ve been working with Stuart Delves, an award winning playwright, copywriter and writing coach.  Stuart has successfully adapted face-to-face workshop techniques and exercises and drawn on his theatrical background to transform the online learning experience.

The two hour session will give you an emotionally-intelligent set of tools to use to help you prepare your client/s for the meeting and adapt your approach and techniques to get the best story you can out of the call.

The 2 hour masterclass, will take place via video conference.

  • STEP 1: We’ll send out a questionnaire at least a week before the Masterclass.
  • STEP 2: You to return the completed questionnaire at least 2 days before the session – this will help Stuart prepare for the session.
  • STEP 3: We’ll send you a link to join a Google Meet for the allotted day.
  • STEP 4: Join the Masterclass on the chosen day.

"I am so glad I took the plunge and did this course, to do a job that is enjoyable and exciting and no two days are ever the same. The course was intense but the support and encouragement I got from my mentors really helped me through it. I would definitely recommend it especially if you’re looking for a change in career, a career that’s rewarding. I’ve learned and gained new skills I never knew I had."

"The course is easy to understand & follow. Its very comprehensive & once completed you are in a good position to commence celebrancy work. You do have to be committed time wise but its not difficult. I learnt things about funerals I didn't know & now understand the origins of wedding symbolic gestures. So informative, writing to do, films to watch & research into topics. A great course!!"
