Course Description
The creative writing unit provides candidates with an opportunity to develop their overall understanding of composing and delivering a ceremony.
This includes basic structure, signposts and choreography; creativity and storytelling;
discovering suitable ceremony content including readings and poetry; how to layout a script and an introduction to ceremony performance.
Candidates will be able to:
* Demonstrate that they can structure and choreograph a ceremony.
* Demonstrate that they can use creative writing techniques.
* Demonstrate that can incorporate other material in a script.
* Demonstrate that they can prepare for their performance.
Morag Webster – (Mentor, Trainer & Assessor)
Morag enjoys meeting people and has a genuine interest in helping them. Looking to combine both her skills and interest in people, she took a new direction in 2012. She’s been busy ever since conducting ceremonies, as well as supporting the team and looking after Fuze.
Laura Widdop – (Mentor, Trainer & Assessor)
Laura’s experience lies in senior management retail with 15 years’ experience. She looks after Fuze as well as the team & all it’s customers.
Mo Ackroyd – (Mentor, Trainer & Assessor)
Having worked with people from every walk of life, becoming a Celebrant was the most natural thing in the world to Mo. With 6 years experience, Mo likes to keep up with all the latest ceremony trends & is full of new ideas.
Christopher Griffin – (Mentor, Trainer & Assessor)
Christopher trained to become a Celebrant in 2018. He is a very experienced customer focused, business development, business management and operations executive with 30 years of success working locally and globally across multiple market sectors.
Marjorie Russell – (Mentor, Trainer & Assessor)
Marjorie has many years of experience in delivering training and supporting learners, both in educational and business environments. She was one of the first Celebrants to successfully complete the UKCAPSA training programme.
Evelyn Robertson – (Mentor)
Evelyn has worked as a Celebrant for many years, both with the local authority in Falkirk as a Registrar and in 2016 she joined Fuze. It’s safe to say that there is little Evelyn doesn’t know about being a Celebrant!
Wendy Dallas – (Mentor)
Wendy’s background is in education, but retrained as a Celebrant in 2017. She has worked with learners in many countries and loves meeting new people. The role of celebrant is ideal for her people and communication skills. She is an accomplished public speaker and lots of fun.
